Message From the Principal...

Welcome!

The administration and faculty of Papillion-LaVista High School extends a warm welcome to you as we embark on a new school year. We are especially anxious to meet those parents new to our District and extend a special invitation to visit school and meet our faculty and staff.

The best school systems are those where parents take an active role and become truly involved in the curricular and activity programs of their child. We strive to provide a well-balanced curriculum to prepare students for a variety of lifelong endeavors.Your support is encouraged and greatly appreciated.

Attendance in school directly relates to student success. Our attendance policy allows students to miss up to 11days without loss of credit. Students are reminded that these 11 days are to be used for doctor/dentist appointments, emergencies, court appearances, and general illnesses. Remember, in the world of work, you would not be able to miss 20-30 days every five months and still have a job. Only in cases where there are extended illnesses will waivers be accepted past the 11-day policy.

We are excited to open the school year with the completion of the second phase of the bond issue. New classrooms, guidance area, office area, and a new turf practice field are part of this second phase completion. Parents, you will also be happy to hear that the front entrance of the building will be completed. You will be able to drop off and pick up your students in the front just like you have done for so many years in the past.

Educationally yours,

James C. Glover

Principal
